Curtis 1212 is a motor speed controller intended for use with permanent magnet drive motors on electric vehicles that operate on relatively low power systems like mini-scooters and personal mobility units. It is fully programmable so it can be used with any kind of low-power vehicle even in the industrial field, like small pallet trucks for example. The user can set speed and brake limits, program the controller to handle various wheel numbers, connect any kind of throttle unit no matter whether it is of a unipolar or a single-ended type, and easily interchange between the indoor/outdoor performance modes thanks to the integrated “Multi-Mode” system. Since 1212 was designed to be mostly used on mobility scooters, it offers active safety systems like the “Push-Too-Fast” feature that limits the speed when pushed beyond a certain speed limit, the “Anti-Rollback” and “Anti-Rollforward” functions that control the vehicle inclination when travelling on steep hills or ramps, and the “Key Off Decel” that decelerates the vehicle smoothly to a full stop when the ignition key is turned to the off position.
