The Curtis model 1244 is a SepEx motor controller that is especially suitable for material handling vehicles that need ultimate control under all conditions. Typical examples of such vehicles include stackers, boom trucks, order pickers, personnel carriers, forklifts, and counterbalance trucks. Due to the operational nature of these vehicles and their special role, it is very important to be able to interchange between various performance modes, and 1244 fulfills this need by offering the Curtis MultiMode system with four different settings to cover every possible indoor and outdoor need. Besides that, there is also a smart load compensation and restraint feature, a special “creep speed” mode, and the High Pedal Disable (HPD) and Static Return to Off (SRO) active safety systems. 1244 is also controlling and adjusting the armature current at all times, helping in the reduction of the arcing and the mitigation of the brush wear. Fault-detection and self-diagnostics include temperature and under voltage cutbacks, microprocessor self-check, internal and external watchdog circuits, adjustable contactor pull-in and holding voltages, short-circuit protected driver outputs, coil spike protection, and more.
