The Curtis model 1243C is a SepEx programmable controller equipped with a MOSFET unit and a state of the art microprocessor. It is intended to be used with a maximum voltage of 36 volts and in relatively not harsh conditions as reflected by the IP 53 rating. The difference between the simple 1243 and the “C” edition is that the latter supports the CAN bus communication protocol allowing the user to connect almost any CAN module to the controller. Other than that, the 1243 is empowered by the MultiMode feature with four programmable settings for its speed, current, braking, and acceleration rates, the “Ramp Restraint” automatic electronic braking, the “Load Compensation” feature that regulates the current according to the losses in the armature, and the regenerative braking that can also boost the braking performance in case of emergency by supplying the system with extra energy. Another emergency safety system is the emergency reverse feature that helps go backward swiftly upon activation. The controller is manufactured under the ISO 9001 standard requirements and is UL recognized.
