The Curtis 1231 is a series motor controller designed and built to fulfill traction control roles on road vehicles of all kinds (commuter, light delivery trucks, etc.) that use a powering system of 72 to up to 144 volts. When you’re out on the road, you need reliable and stable operation, and 1231 is designed to specifically deliver this stability with a heavy duty anodized aluminum casing that is certified as per the IP 65 sealing standard, plated solid copper busses on all power connection, and thermal protection on all key points of the controller. In addition to these, the model 1231 features a sophisticated frequency shifting system which ranges from 1.5 to 15 kHz to detect a stalling situation on a motor and protect it from damage in a timely manner. All this is easy to install with a two-wire potentiometer for connecting with the throttle, and MOSFET-enable module auto-detection capabilities. 1231 is rated to work from minus 25 to up to 85 degrees Celsius, but if you find that this limit is frequently reached for any reason during your application, there’s also an optional additional heatsink for the controller that allows for an even better heat dissipation performance.
