The Curtis model 1227 is the top model of the 122X range of products consisting of programmable permanent magnet motor controllers that can be used in virtually any electric vehicle. These controllers are capable of handling electric power units that have a voltage range of 24 to up to 48 volts, and a current of 100 to 200 amperes. As is the case with all the Curtis programmable controllers, the 1227 is equipped with a full-bridge MOSFET controller that offers silent operation and high energy efficiency. The controller can be programmed by using a Curtis 1307 handheld programmer which can also be used for the diagnostic purpose of reading fault logs. The advantageous features and systems incorporated into 1227 include a load compensation and speed stabilizer smart unit, a regenerative braking system, a smoothened linear acceleration and deceleration, a key-off decel function, an emergency reverse ability, a programmable braking pulse width modulation unit, and the Curtis HPD (High Pedal Disable) and Push-Too-Fast” safety functions. Finally, the 1227 is compliant with the TÜV requirements, and the ISO 7176 monitoring standard.
