A: To replace the hydraulic cylinder on your Bobcat Skid Steer/Loader, you will need to follow these steps:
Park the loader on a level surface and lower the bucket to the ground.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery cables.
Locate the hydraulic hoses that connect to the cylinder and disconnect them from the couplers. Be careful not to spill any hydraulic fluid, and cap the hoses and couplers to prevent contamination.
Remove the pins that secure the cylinder to the loader frame and the bucket linkage. You may need a hammer and a punch to drive out the pins.
Carefully lift out the cylinder and place it on a clean workbench.
If you are replacing the cylinder, install the new one in reverse order of removal. Make sure to use new seals and o-rings and apply grease to the pins before inserting them.
You must disassemble the cylinder and inspect the components for wear or damage if repairing it. You may need to replace the piston, rod, seals, or barrel, depending on the condition of the cylinder.
After installing or repairing the cylinder, reconnect the hydraulic hoses and bleed any air from the system. Start the engine and check for leaks or malfunctions. Adjust the bucket level if necessary.
