The model 1203 is an earlier but very reliable version of Curtis MOSFET motor speed controllers, suitable for utilization on series DC motors of industrial vehicles or hydraulic pumps. It offers a remarkable high operational efficiency, low-noise levels on the motor operation, and limited energy losses that result in a little generation of heat. The controller is fully programmable in the sense that it can support multiple throttle modes and different pedal-disable safety configurations, can take input from a wide range of signal sources allowing precision throttle control, supports almost any battery type as the user can program the voltage cutback threshold as needed, and it also offers variable braking modes. The programming of the 1203 controller can be performed by using the standard Curtis 1313 handheld programmer. The 1203 series is limited to working on voltages of 12, 24 to up to 36, and has a 2-minute current limit of 275 A. The microprocessor features complete short-circuit protection, contactor fault detection, under and over voltage cutbacks to manage battery problems, and a reliable electrical isolation on the heat sink. The proof of the build quality of the 1203 series is reflected by its compliance with the EN12985, UL583, and IP54 standard requirements.
