Early Years and Expansion

Cascade Manufacturing Company was founded in 1943 with a small capital investment of 7500 dollars in Portland, Oregon, as a small shop for just four employees. First recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembling of stainless steel valves and pipe fittings. Sales for the first year have come up to 60,000 dollars.

In 1948 after 5 years of operations, annual sales had been up to $330,000, and the company had grown to 40 employees. The design and production of the first hydraulic cylinder have put Cascade into pursuing new business opportunities. In the 1950s, Cascade has begun to design, manufacture, and sell hydraulic attachments. In 1956, the headquarters was built located in Portland, Oregon. It was meant to house all plants and offices. After 15 years in business, sales have gone up to $2.3 million, and employment went to 180 people. In 1959, Cascade broadened its base of operations with a second manufacturing plant in Springfield, Ohio. The next year marked Cascade's move into global manufacturing and established companies in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.

1967 Cascade opened a secondary operation in South Africa and acquired C.M Scott Fluid Power, LTD, a Canadian manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders located in Toronto, Ontario. In 2005, China became the 3rd largest national lift truck market, right behind US and Japan. To keep our current market position in the Chinese market, Cascade expanded its capacity of Chinese fork facilities and made significant investments in Xiamen and Hebei. In 2005 Cascade also agreed to be a distributor for a facility in Santos, Brazil.

Economy and Market Decline

In 1982 a severe economic recession hit both US and Europe with a decline of 25% in consolidated net sales. The Employment levels were reduced from 1175 to 750. 2009 was the most challenging in 67 years of the company’s history. Due to the steep drop in our markets, particularly the European market, Cascade experienced the second annual loss in our history. Net Sales dropped to $314 million. As a result of the downturn, Cascade was forced to shut down fork plants in France and Germany, and the plant in Europe (Almere, the Netherlands), which was the headquarters, was also shut down. All European attachment manufacturing operations are consolidated in our Verona, Italy, attachment plant. North America and the Asia Pacific are the only operations that remained profitable and at an operation level despite market declines of 40% and 35%. Chinese operations also remained very profitable throughout the year in very harsh market conditions. In June, Cascade took a risk and opened a sales office in India, starting with one employee. (rather than an agent as previously done).

The most significant and unexpected event in 2011 was a massive flood that struck the Queensland area of Australia. Even though the entire first floor was flooded, team members from around the globe were sent to help ensure that customer orders were not afflicted by the flood.

From its beginning as a small shop in the early 1940s to the leading worldwide manufacturer that Cascade is today. Cascade continues to grow as a leading supplier of lift truck attachments and related products.

Why Should I Buy These Cascade Parts?

When it comes to forklift parts, it's important to consider the quality of the replacement parts. After all, your forklift is a critical piece of equipment in your business. Why take a chance on inferior aftermarket parts?

There are many reasons why you should buy OEM-specific Cascade forklift replacement parts. Here are some of the most important ones:

  • These parts may not fit your forklift properly, and they may not work as well as OEM parts.

  • They are often made from lower-quality materials than OEM parts, leading to premature wear and tear.

  • They come with a warranty from the manufacturer, while aftermarket parts do not.

  • When you buy these parts, you support the company that made your forklift, which helps ensure that they will continue to make quality products in the future.

Lift Parts Warehouse offers a wide range of forklift parts for all models and makes of Cascade lift trucks. We have everything you need to keep your forklift running like new. So, why settle for anything less?

How to Choose the Right Cascade Part

When choosing the right forklift parts, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. The most important factor is the type of forklift you have. There are different parts for each type of Cascade lift truck.

If you're not sure what type of forklift you have, look at the nameplate. The nameplate will list the type of forklift and the model number. Once you have that information, you can go online or to your local parts store and find the right parts for your forklift.

Another factor you need to consider is the age of your forklift. Parts for older models might be harder to find, so you might have to order them from a dealer.

Finally, you need to make sure that the parts are compatible with your forklift. Not all parts are compatible with every forklift, so it's important to do your research before buying anything.

If you follow these tips, you'll be able to choose the right forklift parts for your machine.

When Should You Replace Your Forklift Parts

If you're wondering when you should replace your forklift parts, the answer largely depends on how often you use your forklift and what kind of environment it's used in. For example, if you operate your forklift in a dusty or dirty environment, the parts will likely wear out more quickly than used in a clean environment. Additionally, if you use your forklift heavily, the parts will need to be replaced more often than if it's only used occasionally.

Generally speaking, most forklift parts should be replaced every 1-3 years, depending on how often they're used. However, some parts may need to be replaced more or less often, depending on the specific application. For example, the hydraulic seals in a forklift may need to be replaced more often if the forklift is used in a wet or humid environment.

If you're not sure when to replace your forklift parts, it's always best to consult with your local dealer. They can help you identify which parts need to be replaced and when they should be replaced.

The Importance of Regular Maintenance of Cascade Forklifts

Proper maintenance is key when it comes to owning and operating a forklift. Not only does regular maintenance help keep your forklift running at its best, but it can also help prevent costly and dangerous accidents. Here are just a few of the many reasons why you should perform regular maintenance of your Cascade forklift:

  1. To ensure the safety of your operators and employees. A poorly maintained forklift can be dangerous, leading to accidents and injuries. Regular maintenance can help prevent these accidents from happening.

  2. To prolong the life of your forklift. A forklift that is not properly maintained will not last as long as one that is regularly taken care of. By performing regular maintenance, you can help your forklift last longer.

  3. To ensure the quality of your work. When a forklift is not properly maintained, it can lead to poor performance and inaccurate results. Regular maintenance can help keep your forklift running smoothly and accurately.

  4. To avoid costly repairs. Forklifts that are not properly maintained often require more expensive repairs. By performing regular maintenance, you can help avoid these costly repairs.
